The DELTA FOUNDATION was founded in Pakistan in 1988 by Agha Alam Khan, after a group of concerned citizens came together to rehabilitate flood victims from Punjab province of Pakistan.
While helping them rebuild their mud homes, We realised there was no school in the area. The best way to help would be to build one. In 1990, DELTA FOUNDATION built its first school. DELTA FOUNDATION also established a dispensary to offer affordable primary health Delta Foundation built a vocational centre, to provide income-generating opportunities to local women.
The goals of the Foundation are to:
- To enable women to acquire great access to knowledge, resources and institutions;
- To influence attitudes and behavior for a social environment responsive to women’s concerns and people-centred issues;
- To facilitate citizens’ active participation in the process of social change and governance at all level.
